A Special Morning for GMA

The event marked one of the only times the entire GMA team—daytime, overnight, and early-morning crews—were able to gather together.
“It was one of the only days of the decade that everyone could be in one place to say, ‘We did it—and we did it together.’”

Disney Legend and longtime anchor Robin Roberts shared that the celebration felt like “a homecoming — a celebration for the entire GMA family, in front of and behind the cameras who help us say those three perfect words: ‘Good morning, America.’”
Looking Back
Since debuting in 1975 with David Hartman and Nancy Dussault, Good Morning America has featured a lineup of beloved anchors, including Joan Lunden, Charles Gibson, Diane Sawyer, George Stephanopoulos, Michael Strahan, and Roberts.

Monday’s broadcast welcomed many of them back for a heartfelt reunion. Swink noted one highlight: “David has the original GMA set chair in his home, which he sat in when he joined us today. It was a special moment.”
Bob Iger also joined the team to personally congratulate the cast and crew on their 50-year legacy.

Over five decades, Good Morning America has evolved from a daily news program into a trusted part of viewers’ lives.
“Morning television is very personal,” Swink said. “You feel like you know the people on screen because they’re there with you every morning—sharing not only the news but their lives.”

That connection has helped GMA remain the most-watched morning show for 13 consecutive years, averaging over 2.6 million viewers daily.
As the show looks ahead, the entire cast and crew of GMA hope to continue bringing stories and news to viewers’ lives.
