PHOTOS: ‘Tree of Life Awakenings’ Returns to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
While Disney’s Animal Kingdom may not have a nighttime spectacular like the other three Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney’s “wildest” park takes on a new character at night.
If you have ever had the opportunity to embark on a nighttime trip aboard the Kilimanjaro Safaris, watched Pandora transform into an illuminecent landscape, or just wandered through Discovery Island at dusk, you know how special the park can when the sun does down.

Tree of Life Awakenings has returned!
While Animal Kingdom offers plenty of surprises after the sun goes down, for my money, nothing beats Tree of Life Awakenings.
Tree of Life Awakenings
As the sun sets at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life comes to life with magic during Tree of Life Awakenings.

Every 10 minutes, the Animal Kingdom icon lights up with images from he natural world as fireflies appear and the carved animals that make up the tree come to life.
The show cycles through numerous stories, including the tale of a young doe, a fox who spreads gifts, the love story of two hummingbirds, and the saga of The Lion King.

While Tree of Life Awakenings has been well-received by fans, the show is not performed every night.

With Animal Kingdom routinely closing before dark, the show is best described as “seasonal.”
The Show Has Returned
Now that the clocks have rolled back an hour, it is my pleasure to announce that Tree of Life Awakenings returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom last weekend.

Once again, guests had the opportunity to close out their night by celebrating the beauty of the natural world.

As always, the Tree of Life looked majestic.

Here is one last look.

As the sun sets earlier, Tree of Life Awakenings should continue to be presented on a regular basis.
