Disney’s Upcoming Attractions Will Blend Cutting-Edge Technology With the Magic of Storytelling
For more than 100 years, the magic of Disney has been found at the intersection of technology and storytelling.
From the pioneering use of sound in Steamboat Willie to the introduction of the Audio-Animatronic in the Enchanted Tiki Room, Disney has brought its characters to life by pushing technological boundaries and inventing the future along the way.

Over the last several years, we have seen Disney continue to develop new technologies to better tell its stories. Recent examples of this include the Spider-Man Stuntronic developed for Avengers Campus and the BDX droids, which have become beloved by Star Wars fans.

As Disney continues to look to the horizon, with numerous new attractions in development, it remains committed to the idea that technology should serve the story, making imaginary worlds feel real.

Take Flight Like Iron Man
Across the country at Disneyland, Imagineers are hard at work creating Stark Flight Lab for Avengers Campus.

The new Iron Man-themed attraction will utilize “gyro-kinetic pods” to transfer guests from a track to massive robot arms.
Then, they will perform high-speed maneuvers inspired by Tony Stark himself.

To give the robot arms lifelike movements, Imagineers designed the attraction using motion-capture technology and human choreography.

“Because we have both physical destinations and digital platforms, we can connect fans to the stories they love in ways no one else can—on a global scale,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences. “What you’re seeing now is a true convergence: great stories meeting cutting‑edge tech inside deeply immersive, real‑world experiences. That combination is unrivaled—and it’s exactly what fans are craving.”

I, for one, can’t wait to see what Disney cooks up next!
