Shanghai Disney Resort Unveils Plans for Fourth Hotel and Major Expansion
Shanghai Disney Resort has just announced plans for major expansion, including a brand-new hotel and expanded shopping and dining experiences.

Shanghai Disney just made a pretty big announcement! More fun is coming to the resort, and guests are ready.

The expansion includes a new hotel, which will be the fourth Disney-themed hotel at the resort and will sit immediately adjacent to the Shanghai Disneyland entrance. This will be the closest Disney hotel to the park.
The resort describes it as a “perfect gateway for guests to begin their magical experience.”

The expansion also includes new retail and dining areas along with the hotel, enhancing the resort’s entertainment district and providing guests with even more ways to enjoy their visit.

This news comes as Shanghai Disneyland celebrates another major milestone. It has recently welcomed its 100 millionth guest in just over nine years since opening.
This further establishes the park’s continued growth and popularity among Disney fans across Asia and beyond.

And according to the Themed Entertainment Association’s Global Experience Index 2024, released on October 23, 2025, Shanghai Disney Resort now ranks among the world’s top five most visited theme parks.
