‘Zootopia 2’ Adds Numerous Disney Animation Stars (Including Dwayne Johnson)

With less than a month until Zootopia 2 hits theaters, we are still learning more about the seemingly innumerable number of stars who have joined the film’s cast.

The second installment in the Zootopia franchise will reunite audiences with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they follow the “twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.”

In addition to the return of familiar faces like Nick, Judy, Flash, Clawhauser, and Gazelle, Zootopia 2 will broaden the city’s scope and introduce several new animal characters.

An Ever-Expanding Cast

So far, Disney has announced that  Ke Huy Quan will portray Gary the Snake, Patrick Warburton will voice Mayor Winddancer, and Yvette Nicole Brown will pull double duty as EMT Otter and Baroness Bear.

Additionally, director Jared Bush revealed that Tiny Lister will posthumously reprise his role as Finnick in the film. Finally, Macaulay Culkin, Brenda Song, and Robert Irwin recently joined the cast.

Now we can add even more stars to that list.

Disney Animation Stars Join ‘Zootopia 2’

Jared Bush, the head of Disney Animation and the writer/director of Zootopia 2, has announced that the upcoming film will feature cameos from numerous Disney animation stars.

“From the beginning, Easter eggs and winks to our favorite films and characters have been a hallmark of the world of Zootopia,” Jared Bush, the head of Disney Animation and writer-director of Zootopia 2, said. “We are ecstatic that Zootopia 2 expands our Zootopia family to include even more members of our extended Disney family, filled with dear friends and true Disney Legends.”

The Cameos

The newly announced cameos include:

• Dwayne Johnson (Moana) as Zeke – “Zeke is an accident-prone dik-dik who meets with a musical mishap as a result of Judy and Nick’s high-speed pursuit gone awry.”
• Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) as Anti-Venom Pen – “The antidote for pit viper Gary De’Snake’s venom, his Anti-Venom Pen is almost as cute as he is.”
• Rachel House (Moana) as Gramma Taller – “Currently behind bars at the ZPD, Gramma Taller makes Nick’s visit to the jail even more unpleasant.”
• David Fane (Moana) as Truffler – “Truffler is Captain Hoggbottom’s meathead razorback partner.”
• Josh Gad (Frozen) as Paul Moledebrandt – “Ornery mole and ZPD’s IT expert, Paul Moledebrandt rules his domain with a tiny iron paw.”
• Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog) as Squeal of Fortune Mouse – “This adorable mouse is the lucky winner of an almost-new car on Zootopia’s favorite game show, Squeal of Fortune.”
• Stephanie Beatriz and Wilmer Valderrama (Encanto) as Bloats and Higgins – “Hippo ZPD cop partners Bloats and Higgins may be excellent swimmers, but they can be easily distracted in their pursuit of new fugitives Judy and Nick.”
• John Leguizamo (Encanto) as Antony – “Smarmy anteater Antony is a smuggler who bolts at the first sign of trouble.”

Needless to say, Zootopia 2 is setting up to be a star-studded affair.
