A Flood Watch Has Been Issued For Walt Disney World
While Central Florida has yet to be impacted by Hurricane Melissa, guests visiting Walt Disney World today were greeted by heavy rain and blustery winds.
Earlier this afternoon, the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida, issued a flood watch for east central Florida, including Volusia, Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.

That area includes Walt Disney World.
What Does the Flood Watch Mean?
As explained by the National Weather Service, a Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable to flooding. If the risk of flooding becomes imminent, the watch would be updated to a Flood Warning.
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas,” the Flood Watch explains.

While Walt Disney World has been plagued by rain throughout much of the day, the storms have not yet drastically impacted the resort’s operations.
A Look Ahead
According to the forecast, it appears the rain has largely ended, and the rest of the evening should be dry at Disney World.

Today has been a rainy day in Magic Kingdom
It should also be noted, however, that the Flood Watch expires at 3:00 AM tomorrow morning, meaning The Most Magical Place on Earth is not quite out of the woods yet.
