ESPN and the NBA Kick Off Another Season of Hoops
ESPN and the NBA began another season of partnership last night, marking a new era in their longtime collaboration.
As a new, expanded media rights deal between the Worldwide Leader and the NBA begins to bear fruit, the network is more dedicated than ever to deliver for fans.

“We never lose sight of the fact that we are here to document the games because, ultimately, that’s why the fans are watching,” Tim Corrigan, ESPN Senior Vice President, Sports Production, explained.

New Additions To the Broadcast
While ESPN has been a television partner of the NBA for years, this season has seen numerous changes to the network’s presentation.
For starters, Tim Legler has now joined Richard Jefferson and Mike Breen on the network’s lead broadcast team.

Additionally, former coach Michael Malone has joined the network.
‘Inside the NBA’
Finally, last night saw the debut of the beloved Inside the NBA on ESPN.

“Inside the NBA is one of the most popular shows, not only in sports, but across all media. Ernie, Chuck, Shaq and Kenny are cultural icons and any time you’re able to add those voices to your overall content offerings, you’re going to be in a great position to serve basketball fans,” Corrigan said.
“When ESPN made the Inside the NBA deal, it was done because we wanted the same great show that fans know and love, and that’s what they’re going to get.”
