Two Men Sentenced For Shanghai Disneyland “Skip the Line” Scam
Chinese authorities have sentenced two men to several months in prison for scamming tourists with false promises that they could skip the lines at Shanghai Disneyland.
From July through August 2024, Yao and Wu sold counterfeit products on social media, promising Shanghai Disneyland customers they would receive “priority entry, exclusive tours, and no waiting time for rides,” under the names Disney VIP Pass and Fast Track Exclusive Guided Tours.

As it turns out, the partners had no official partnership with Shanghai Disneyland.
The Scam
After customers paid for the services, they were only given standard admission tickets. When they complained, they were told to “wait a while.”

Two plaintiffs have been sentenced for organizing a Shanghai Disneyland scam.
When a victim named Ren complained about the scam, the plaintiffs threatened to “send someone over.”
An investigation into the scam found that dozens of victims had been swindled. In total, the scam defrauded them of 78,000 RMB ($10,951).
