Updated Guide to Meeting Characters at Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom has seen a bunch of changes in Disney World recently! Almost all of DinoLand, U.S.A., is under construction right now as it transforms into the Tropical Americas, a new show is under construction on Discovery Island, and Kali River Rapids is closed for refurbishment.

All of this has caused the character meet and greets to move around in the park! So, we have an updated guide for you — let’s take a look.
Meeting Characters in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Characters can be found all around Animal Kingdom! We’re going to break down their current locations, but you will need to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for the specific meet and greet times, because they do change.
Chip ‘n Dale’s Holiday Outfits
Let’s see which characters you can meet and greet in Animal Kingdom right now!
Oasis
Oasis is the front area of the park you walk through before crossing over the bridge that gives you that first view of the Tree of Life.

Discovery Island
Discovery Island is the center of Animal Kingdom where the Tree of Life is located.
- Mickey & Minnie Mouse — Adventurers Outpost
- Dug & Russel — Discovery Island Trail
- Moana — Character Landing
- Kevin — Roaming on Discovery Island
Kevin in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
DinoLand, U.S.A
DinoLand, U.S.A. is to the front right of Discovery Island and is heavily under construction right now, but you can still meet some characters!
- Donald Duck — Near Restaurantosaurus
- Daisy Duck — Cretaceous Trail
- Chip and Dale — Upper Cretaceous Trail
Africa
The Africa section of the park is to the back left of Discovery Island.
- Goofy — Near Harambe Market
Note that the My Disney Experience app still says Goofy is meeting at the Harambe Station right now, but he HAS moved to just outside of Harambe Market in Africa.
Rafiki’s Planet Watch
To see the characters at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, you will have to take the train from Africa to Rafiki’s, so keep that in mind.
