Is a New Drone Show Coming to Disneyland?
We love the nighttime spectaculars at the Disney parks, and this new “late-night activity” has us wondering if a new Drone Show is coming to Disneyland.
Disney is lighting up the skies again, but this time over the Golden Oak Ranch movie studio backlot.

Recent aerial tests and activities have fans questioning if Disneyland is preparing a new drone-based nighttime spectacular inspired by Aladdin.
Golden Oak Ranch Testing
The Golden Oak Ranch is a 900-acre film and TV backlot in Newhall, California, owned by Disney. It has hosted productions from The Mickey Mouse Club to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Located about 70 miles north of Disneyland, it is now serving as the backdrop for Disney’s latest drone testing.

The aerial tests could be tied to several possibilities: an addition to the Disneyland fireworks show, enhancements to World of Color at Disney California Adventure, a global Disney Parks spectacular, or even entertainment aboard Disney Cruise Line.
Either way, it’s definitely exciting!

Disney has already incorporated drones into various park shows, including those in Florida, France, Japan, and China.
However, Disneyland has faced challenges using them. Plans for aerial sequences in World of Color and Disneyland Forever fireworks were canceled due to Federal Aviation Administration restrictions.

While Disney has not confirmed any details, the sight of the drones suggests something new (and magical) is hopefully in the near future.
Disneyland guests are optimistic that they can experience a drone-enhanced nighttime show soon!
