Disney Apps, Website, and Streaming Services Affected By Global AWS Outage
A major outage of Amazon Web Services (AWS) has taken down numerous websites, apps, and programs around the world, causing confusion for millions of users.
The first outage was reported at 3:11 AM ET this morning in AWS’ main US-East-1 region.
Initially, Amazon said that the outage had been mitigated and many services returned.

“We have identified that the issue originated from within the EC2 internal network,” the company wrote. “We continue to investigate and identify migrations.”

Disney is among the millions of companies that rely on AWS, for its streaming services, websites and theme park apps.

As of this writing, streaming customers are reporting issues accessing Disney+, and the My Disney Experience app is experiencing issues for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland users.
A notification on the app reads: “Pardon the Inconvenience: We are currently experiencing intermittent technical issues that may affect some of our digital experiences. We’re actively working to resolve this issue. We apologize of any inconvenience.”

A similar notification appears on Disney’s webpages.

It should be noted that the Disney AWS connection issues seem to be intermittent and services are working for some users.
