Disney Announces “Disney Celebrates America” to Honor the Nation’s 250th Anniversary
A huge celebration is coming soon! The Walt Disney Company is joining the once-in-a-lifetime celebration of America’s 250th anniversary with a new initiative called “Disney Celebrates America.”

Kicking off on Veterans Day 2025 and continuing through the July 4th weekend, this celebration will unite the parks, the company, and its brands to honor the nation in new ways.

Disney will spotlight the people, places, and moments that make the United States special–a tradition that has been part of Disney’s story for more than a century.
This year, Disney will encourage families everywhere to explore and discover the diverse lands and communities that make up our shared story.

“At its heart, America’s story is one of imagination, ambition, and possibility – the same ideals that have guided Disney since the beginning,” said Robert A. Iger, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “This celebration honors both a nation and a spirit that never stop dreaming about what’s next.”
Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will celebrate coast-to-coast with the Summer 2026 opening of Soarin’ Across America.
The updated immersive flight experience takes guests on a breathtaking journey across the country’s most iconic landscapes and cityscapes.
The celebration will culminate on the July 4th weekend with a 24-hour, multi-platform broadcast!
“Disney Celebrates America” will highlight 250th anniversary events nationwide across Disney’s linear networks and streaming platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, ABC, Disney Channel, ESPN, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic.

The special broadcast will conclude with an evening fireworks spectacular from both theme parks!

It’s not just the parks that will be celebrating. Check out these other company platforms that will be joining in on the fun.
- ABC’s “Good Morning America” will continue its “50 States in 50 Weeks” series, featuring unforgettable people and places.
- National Geographic’s “America in Superlatives” will highlight unique places and stories from across the nation.
- ESPN will premiere “America’s Team,” and air special patriotic programming, including the 2026 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest live on July 4.
- ABC News Studios will air a two-hour primetime special in June 2026, journeying through the heart of America.
- “Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” fireworks show will play July 3–5 at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom.
- Disney Consumer Products will launch special military-inspired and Americana merchandise at Disney Parks and DisneyStore.com in May 2026.
Supporting Veterans, Military, and Families

In addition to the celebration, Disney will continue its long-standing history of supporting U.S. military service members, veterans, and their families.
The company is expanding its partnership with Blue Star Families through a $2.5 million donation to strengthen military and veteran families nationwide.

Additional initiatives include special movie screenings for military families, live coverage of veteran celebrations, and expanded use of the U.S. Chamber Corporate Fellowship and Skillbridge programs.
In November, Disney Experiences will also announce 2026 special offers for eligible service members at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line.
