Bette Midler Gives Promising ‘Hocus Pocus 3’ Update
After nearly three decades, fans had the opportunity to return to Salem and reunite with the Sanderson Sisters when Hocus Pocus 2 premiered on Disney+.
The highly anticipated sequel proved to be a streaming hit for Disney+, becoming one of the streamer’s most-watched films of the year. Additionally, Hocus Pocus 2 racked up three Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Television Movie.

Based on the success of the Hocus Pocus sequel, a third film in the franchise was quickly put into production.
‘Hocus Pocus 3’
In July 2023, Disney announced Anne Fletcher would once again serve as director, with Jen D’Angelo writing the script. At the time, it seemed like the Sanderson Sisters would return sooner rather than later.

Since July 2023, however, updates on Hocus Pocus 3 have been few and far between.
The last update we got was last July, when Sarah Jessica Parker told Andy Cohen that there were “no more developments, other than we would like to do it.”
Now, however, we have some promising news to share.
Bette Midler’s Latest Update
During a recent appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live (apparently, Andy is the go-to source for Hocus Pocus news?), Bette Midler revealed that Disney has “sent a script” for Hocus Pocus 3 and “a lot of it was brilliant.”

According to Midler, the Hocus Pocus team is now finalizing the film’s details.
” [I] got very excited, and now we’re trying to figure out what it is and where it’s going to be and how much it’s going to cost and all those logistical things,” she said.

While Hocus Pocus 3 still does not have a release date, Midler promised that fans won’t have to wait three decades for the next sequel.
