One ‘Hocus Pocus’ Star Reveals If He Would Return For ‘Hocus Pocus 3’
While Disney’s Hocus Pocus 2 saw the return of some of the original film’s stars, including Sara Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, and Bette Midler as the Sanderson Sisters, much of the original cast was notably absent.
With a third entry in the beloved franchise officially in the works, many fans have hoped that we would see Omri Katz (Max), Vinessa Shaw (Allison), or Thora Birch (Dani) return in some capacity.

Though we will have to wait and see what kind of magic Disney cooks up, another original Hocus Pocus star has weighed in on a possible return.
Would Tobias Jelinek Return For ‘Hocus Pocus 3’?
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Tobias Jelinek, who played the bully Jay in the original Hocus Pocus film, revealed that he would be open to returning for the third installment in the franchise.

“I have not been asked to be part of the third. We’ll see,” Jelinek said.
When asked what he would like to see happen in a third Hocus Pocus movie, the actor quickly mentioned his former co-stars.

“If it was done right, I know for a fact Larry [Bagby] would make sure we both did it,” Jelinek says. “I would want something with Omri and Vinessa, and we also have to get Jason Marsden in there to be the voice of Binx. I’d flip over that opportunity, because we’ve all become really close friends.”
Jay and Ice Almost Appeared in ‘Hocus Pocus’ 2
While Jelinek did not appear in Hocus Pocus 2, writer Jen D’Angelo previously revealed that the film initially had a scene with the two bullies.

As it turns out, Jelinek was unaware.
“First of all, that would’ve been hilarious,” he said.

“But, no, never saw the drafts, they never contacted us. I think they kept that so hush-hush up until they pulled the trigger. I think it would’ve been hilarious if, after the credits, they just had us in the cages still singing ‘Row, Row, Row Your Boat.’ If I had my choice, that’s what I would’ve gone for.”
The Status of ‘Hocus Pocus 3’
While Disney previously announced that a Hocus Pocus 3 was in development, updates on the project have been few and far between.

Earlier this year, Sara Jessica Parker said there were “no more developments” surrounding Hocus Pocus 3, “other than we would like to do it.”
Hopefully, we will learn more about the film’s future soon.
