Disney Has Extended the Contract of Chief Communications Officer Kristina K. Schake
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog this week, you know that there have been some major announcements about the future of The Walt Disney Company.
On Monday, longtime Disney publicity head Michelle Sewell announced that she would be stepping down from her position as EVP Global Publicity for Walt Disney Studios and retiring next year.

One day later, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced that Kevin Lansberry was retiring as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Disney Experiences after 39 years with the company.
He will be replaced by Michael Moriarty, who is currently serving as President and Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland.
While change is a constant at Disney, we can now report that one high-level executive is not going anywhere.
Kristina Schake Has Extended Her Contract
The Walt Disney Company and Kristina Schake, senior EVP and chief communications officer, have reached a new contract extension that will see the executive stay with Disney through June 2027.

In her current position, Schake oversees Disney’s worldwide communications strategy and operations. Additionally, she serves as the company’s lead spokesperson.
Prior to joining Disney, Schake spent three decades working in the government. In addition to serving as communications director for First Lady Michele Obama, she was a communications director for Hilary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Under Joe Biden, she was appointed to lead the COVID-19 vaccine education campaign.
Finally, she served as global communications director for Instagram.
