Worst Restaurant Values at Disney World
Previously, we discussed the best restaurant values at Walt Disney World.
The day after I wrote that, Disney promptly performed a batch of price increases.

Yes, I’m kicking myself for not waiting a few days to write that one, but such is life.
Today, I’ll discuss the flip side of this conversation, and it looks even worse now because of the raised prices.

Here are the worst restaurant values at Walt Disney World.
Be Our Guest Restaurant

Be Our Guest restaurant
“Be our guest! Be our guest! But you’ll pay a lot to be our guest!”
Before we do get started, we’ll set two rules, one of which I’m about to violate.

First, we will only include Table Service restaurants in this list, as they’re the places where the value is more debatable.
I find plenty of Quick Service restaurants quite bland and don’t eat at them, whereas several places I’m about to include on this list are ones where I would happily eat on my next Disney visit.

When considering the average vacationer’s budget, these particular eateries don’t offer ideal bang for the buck, so you can do better.
Also, I’m going to exclude character meals since they provide benefits beyond the food itself.

Having said that, I’m starting with Be Our Guest, which does feature the occasional appearance by The Beast.
This encounter isn’t as interactive as most character meals, so we’re really just talking about the food and the price.

Hey, would you like to guess the current price of a lunch or dinner at Be Our Guest?
As of October 8, 2025, it is $72 per person, plus tax and tip.

Be Our Guest
This is a $175 meal at a minimum for two people. I happen to love it, but you can buy a lot of Lightning Lanes for that price.
Cape May Café

I’m excluding the character breakfast from this conversation, focusing only on the seafood buffet.
This particular All-You-Care-to-Enjoy (AYCE) meal offers bottomless fish dishes, and that’s about it.

Those of us who aren’t seafood lovers (haters?) can fill our bellies here, but it’s a decidedly vanilla dining experience for $50 per person.
For seafood lovers, Disney recently diminished the value of this dining experience.

Everything used to be included for the same price, but you’ll pay more for crab legs, which cost an additional $29 per pound.
So, the meal automatically costs 60 percent more for anyone who loves crab legs. Sorry, Jameis Winston.
Coral Reef Restaurant

Much of what I just said about Cape May Cafe applies to Coral Reef, only this meal costs even more for most people.
You’re not eating a buffet here, with most entrees costing over $30, so you’d be hard pressed to eat for less than $50 per person, but you only get whatever’s on your plate.

Disney charges a fortune for Coral Reef Restaurant due to the environment.

So, it’s a seafood meal at a place WHERE fish live, which I’ve always found macabre.
To a larger point, Disney is charging you for the view, while the quality of the food remains an ongoing debate in the tourism community.
The Plaza

During an ill-fated meal in November 2024, I learned that I was allergic to grapes in pretty much the worst way possible.
I don’t remember much about that night, but my allergist got a kick out of that story.

Still, that’s not the problem with The Plaza, Magic Kingdom’s most milquetoast restaurant.
You visit this place for the central location and a possible view of Main Street, U.S.A. and the courtyard beside Cinderella Castle.

Then, you order bland food with a possible side of ice cream.
We’ve eaten here several times over the years due to the convenience, but the only food I can honestly recommend IS the ice cream.
You can save a ton of money by just ordering a dessert at the parlor instead.
Rainforest Café

I know the term “waste of money” gets thrown around a lot, but the menu at Rainforest Cafe makes The Plaza look like Victoria & Albert’s.
You’d ostensibly visit this location when you want a view of the aquariums, but hey, if you want to do that, you might as well go to Coral Reef instead.

They feature a lot more fish in their exhibit.
Because the Disney World campus hosts a pair of Rainforest Cafe franchises, you’re twice as likely to be tempted to eat here.

DO NOT give into that particular temptation.
Just head to Earl of Sandwich or Flame Tree BBQ instead.
Space 220

This one hurts me, as I’m a passionate evangelist for the Space 220 dining experience.
Seriously, I love everything about it other than the price.

When a restaurant charges customers $79 per person for dinner, a Top Chef had better prepare your food.
Here’s another example of paying for the dining experience rather than the quality of the meal, although I will say that the new desserts are dripping with creativity.

If you absolutely must eat here, choose the $55 lunch instead.
It’s the same dining experience for 40 percent less.
Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

Oh, how this one hurts me in every way.
The Lady and the Tramp formed many of my romantic opinions.

This one film may be the reason my main love language is gift giving.
I would and happily have nuzzled a meatball to more than one date over the years.

I find it impossibly charming as a movie scene.
Alas, the Tramp’s meatball most assuredly cost less than $30, which is what you’ll pay at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.

Tony’s dining area
Disney charges guests for the convenience of Tony’s Town Square as well as the theme.
It’s the first Table Service restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A.

I’d strongly encourage you to keep walking to Casey’s Corner 200 feet further down the road, where two people can eat for the price of one plate of spaghetti and meatballs.
Yachtsman Steakhouse

Look, steak is one of the most expensive protein dishes, so anytime you eat at a steakhouse, you know it won’t be cheap.
All the big ones at Disney World, such as STK Steakhouse and Le Cellier Steakhouse cost a tidy sum.

P
Even by those standards, Yachtsman Steakhouse may cause dollar signs to bulge in your eyeballs.
Every butcher’s cut costs at least $60, with enhancements ranging anywhere from $25 to $31.

Disney
The cheapest entree on this menu is $38, and it’s one of only three entrees that cost less than $50.
At that price, it had better be the best steak on the Disney campus, but I’d argue that Le Cellier is better.

When you want a steak dinner, just go to Le Cellier instead.
It also has a roasted cauliflower “steak” that is shockingly good for only $38.

Long story short, I consider Yachtsman overrated and Le Cellier the gold standard.
Even then, you’ll find better values at Disney World than a steak dinner, so make sure you really want one before visiting one of these places.
