James Cameron Is Pulling the Curtain Back on His Filmmaking Process For ‘Fire And Water: Making The Avatar Films’
On December 19, 2025, audiences will finally have the opportunity to return to Pandora when Avatar: Fire and Ash hits theaters.
“With ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash,’ James Cameron takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family,” Disney teased.

The third installment in the Avatar franchise, Fire and Ash, will introduce fans to a new tribe of Na’vi called the Ash Clan.
Unlike the friendly and peaceful Na’vi that we have met in the past, the Ash Clan has a dark side.

“You’ll see a lot more Pandora that you never saw before,” Cameron said at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event. “It’s an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it’s also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before. We’re going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love.”
