PHOTOS: Construction Walls Expand at Animation Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

It has only been a few weeks since Animation Courtyard officially closed, making way for new offerings coming soon to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Overnight, changes were made, and the area was blocked from guests’ view.

Today, new construction walls have gone up inside Animation Courtyard, signaling the next phase of work in this area. 

Area Updates

The end of September was the last time that guests could visit Hollywood Studios’ Animation Courtyard before the location was updated with new offerings and experiences.

Here is a final look at the courtyard before it was closed.

And here is the first phase of construction walls.

Neutral colored walls, greenery, and cleverly placed foliage helped block the area and went up overnight.

However, when visiting the park today, we noticed that new construction walls have gone up.

The walls now extend further toward the entrance near Walt Disney Presents.

The walls conceal the sights and sounds of what is happening behind the scenes as the area transforms and makes way for the newest Disney experiences. Stay tuned!

Coming Soon

Next year, Animation Courtyard will transform into the Walt Disney Studios Lot concept, which will include the iconic Sorcerer Mickey hat and a “new” experience called The Magic of Disney Animation.
