Meet the Cast Members Making Magic at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort opened on October 1, 1995, and was Disney Vacation Club’s first off-site resort. For many, it’s been a favorite ever since.
Blending beachside relaxation with Disney storytelling, the resort offers three decades of memories, community, and even turtle conservation.

The resort isn’t just a getaway– it’s a place where Disney hospitality meets Florida’s coastal beauty and has guests returning year after year.
Three cast members have been part of the Vero Beach story since opening day. Each wears the Walt Disney Legacy Award blue nametags and has helped make special memories for plenty of guests.
A Hometown Treasure with Altamese “Patty” Jacobs

Altamese “Patty” Jacobs, a Vero Beach native, began in housekeeping before finding her long-term home at the front desk. For Patty, it’s all about connecting with people.
“I work for a company that touches other countries and brings people together,” Patty shared. “That’s different for me, and I love it.”
“If you like people and you like to make magic, this is your place to be because it doesn’t matter what your role is, you can do it. That is my aim always. I aim to make people happy.”
Making Happy Happen with Nicole Luecker

Patty’s leader, Nicole Luecker, has spent two decades starting at the front desk and returning as an Area Manager after years of leadership experience. She says the guests are what make Vero Beach unforgettable.
“So many of our guests are returning guests. They come year after year,” she shared. “Recently, I was speaking to one of our guests from the UK, who I met 20 years ago. He was updating me on his family. It’s so beautiful that after 20 years, we still keep in touch and share our family stories, and it’s not just this one guest. It’s so many of our Guests here at Vero. When they visit, it’s like a family – we’re united again.”
Sharing the Magic with Dawn Allen

Dawn Allen started in Merchandise and now works in HR. She focuses on keeping that same energy from opening day alive. “We’re more like family than just a resort. Everybody really gets to know each other. It’s a close-knit, cozy atmosphere.”
As a former Traditions Facilitator and Orientation Leader, she cherishes welcoming new cast members.
“My favorite part is when I meet cast members on their very first day and I see that sparkle in their eyes,” she said. “I know that I’ve got the chance to inspire them in their role and help them enjoy their time here. It’s very fulfilling.”
