Disney World Resort Guests and Annual Passholders No Longer Get a MagicBand+ Discount
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog this morning, you know news has been coming fast and furious from Walt Disney World.
The day kicked off with Disney’s announcement that new animatronics were coming to Frozen Ever After. At that time, we also got a preview of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets and Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
Later, we learned that Disney World was increasing the prices of its tickets, food, merchandise, and Enchanting Extras.

Now, a fan-favorite discount is going away.
No More MagicBand+ Discount
Annual Passholders and guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort previously had the opportunity to purchase MagicBand+ ahead of their arrival and receive a $15 off their order.

This discount replaced the free MagicBands that Disney previously provided to resort guests.
The MagicBand+ could be purchased through the My Disney Experience app up to six days before guests’ arrival.

Unfortunately, Disney World has discontinued that discount.
The Benefits of Ordering Early
A new update to the MagicBand+ website now states that Disney Resort Guests and Annual Passholders may still purchase a MagicBand+ through the My Disney Experience app, and they will receive:
- Free shipping
- Free personalization
- A custom shipping box (for a fun unboxing moment)
- The added convenience of having your MagicBand+ automatically linked to your MyDisney account.
They will not, however, get a discount.

So, if you have an upcoming Walt Disney World vacation and want to purchase a new MagicBand+, you will now have to pay full price.
It May Not Be Worth It
With this change, you may be better off waiting until you arrive to purchase your MagicBand+ on site.
