Jerry Bruckheimer Gives an Interesting ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’ Update
For the first time in nearly a year, Jerry Bruckheimer has provided an update on Pirates of the Caribbean 6, and it sounds like things are sailing ahead.
The last time we checked in, Bruckheimer was telling EW that development was underway on Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and a spinoff of the franchise starring Margot Robbie.
“It’s two different movies,” Bruckheimer explained. “We hope to get ’em both made, and I think Disney agrees they really want to make the Margot one, too.”

A year and a half later, Bruckheimer has weighed in again.
The ‘Pirates’ Team Is Still Working on the Script
While the producer confirmed that both films are still in production, it doesn’t sound like much progress has been made.

“We’re working on a script,” Bruckheimer told TheWrap’s Drew Taylor. “If we don’t have it on the page, it’s not gonna get on the screen.”
According to Bruckheimer, two treatments of Pirates of the Caribbean 6 were in development. Now, however, the team has settled on a single script.

“We had two scripts at one point, and then one kind of dropped out, and we kind of went with the other one,” he explained.
Robbie Is Still Involved
While it remains to be seen when the script is finalized, Bruckheimer confirmed that Ted Elliot contributed to the current treatment and “we’ve brought someone else in to fill in the blanks.”

Finally, the producer reiterated that Robbie still intends to appear in the Pirates franchise.
“She’s still involved,” the producer said.

Hopefully, we will receive an official announcement for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 once the script is complete.
