Hulu’s University of North Carolina Football Documentary Has Been Unceremoniously Canceled
Just a week ago, the University of North Carolina (UNC) football program was buzzing with excitement as eight-time Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick was preparing to make his debut as a college coach.
As part of the pomp and circumstance surrounding Belichick’s return to coaching, Hulu had plans to create a documentary series chronicling the season.

Unfortunately for fans, the series will not come to fruition.
UNC Has Canceled the Project
Like the UNC football season as a whole, the planned Hulu documentary has gone up in flames.

After a dreadful 2-3 start that saw Belichick’s team blown out in its two highest-profile games, plans for the documentary have been cancelled.

While the decision to end the Hulu series likely has more to do with UNC’s on-field struggles than anything else, the specter of Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, continues to loom large over the program.
The Second Canceled Documentary This Season
Earlier this year, HBO had planned to tape a version of Hard Knocks chronicling the UNC season. That series was also ultimately scrapped.

While UNC attributed the cancellation to Belichick, reports indicated that there was a growing discomfort with Hudson’s role in the project.
Documents obtained by ESPN indicate that Hudson would have played a significant role in the Hulu documentary, with UNC PR noting, “Jordon is playing an active role in the filming and production of a documentary about Coach Belichick’s first season of college football, so in that capacity, she may be seen on the sidelines of Carolina Football practices or games.”

Now, the Hulu documentary will end half-baked, much like Belichick’s decision to coach UNC this season.
