Dick Van Dyke Is Back on Stage and Joking About Turning 100
Just months after missing one of his Vandy Camp fan events due to an unspecified illness, Dick Van Dyke was back on stage at Vandy Manor and doing what he loves- performing.
For those who don’t know, Vandy Camp is an intimate fan festival created by Van Dyke and his wife, Arlene Silver. Traditionally, the event features live performances, on-stage conversations, Q&A sessions, and a performance by the couple’s a cappella group The Vantastix.

As part of his conversation with fans, Van Dyke reflected on his upcoming 100th birthday.

“That’s right. I’m not officially a hundred until December. Two months. Two months,” he began (via PEOPLE). “It’d be funny if I didn’t make it.”
A Time of Celebration and Reflection
As is typical, the Vandy Camp event was a joyous celebration of Van Dyke’s life and career, featuring performances of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” and The Dick Van Dyke Show theme.

It also gave Van Dyke a moment to reflect on his amazing longevity.
“I brag sometimes about how I made it to a hundred and the truth is, if I had known I was going to live this long, I would’ve taken better care of myself,” he said.

“I Didn’t Do Anything Right”
Looking back on his prolonged life, Van Dyke gave credit to his wife, Arlene, for keeping him around.
“And it is frustrating because I don’t know what I did right. Other than her [Arlene], I didn’t do anything right.” Dick explained.

Despite Van Dyke’s modest assessment, it is clear that the actor takes care of himself. It was great to see the Disney Legend back on stage and doing what he does best.
