A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Boo’s Dialogue Recording
In celebration of spooky season, Pixar took to Instagram this weekend to share a behind-the-scenes look at the recording of Boo’s lines for Monsters, Inc.

For those who don’t know, the beloved Boo was voiced by Mary Gillis, who was just four years old when the film was released.
To capture Gillis’ lines for Monsters, Inc., the film’s crew actually followed the young girl around while she played.

In place of the monsters, Gibbs interacted with puppets who more closely resembled Muppets than Monstropolis citizens.
As you will see, the film’s production staff was very dedicated to getting an authentic voice for Boo, even if her lines were minimal.
