The Disneyland Hotel’s Big Anniversary
Originally opening on October 5, 1955, the Disneyland Hotel was not initially owned by Disney. Instead, it was built and operated by Jack Wrather, who made an agreement with Walt to license the name.

While the resort would not officially become Disney property until 1988, the Disneyland Hotel has been synonymous with Disneyland for 70 years. That is reason to celebrate!
A Magical Celebration
To commemorate the Disneyland Hotel’s milestone anniversary, the resort hosted a special celebration today, featuring an appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Dressed in their new Disneyland 70 outfits, Mickey and Minnie posed for pictures on the Frontier Tower lawn today from 2 PM until 6 PM.

As you can see, a magical backdrop was installed to make the photos stand out.

Guests visiting Disneyland Hotel not only had the opportunity to meet Mickey and Minnie, but a Disney PhotoPass photographer was also on hand to take pictures.

All in all, it was the perfect way to celebrate the Disneyland Hotel’s big anniversary!
