Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle Highlights the Resort’s Numerous Coming Attractions
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that 2025 has been a year of immense change at Walt Disney World.
Over the last nine months, we have seen the closure of Muppet Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the demolition of Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the draining of the Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom.

While there are numerous exciting new attractions in development, including Monstropolis, Piston Peak, and Tropical Americas, for longtime Disney World fans, it has been challenging to see the resort change so dramatically. For many, their favorite attractions or the locations of cherished memories have closed.

Jeff Vahle Touts Disney’s Coming Attraction
In a recent interview with Orlando Magazine, Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle was asked about the resort’s recent penchant for change.

Talking with pride, Vahle highlighted the numerous projects that have begun in just the last year.

“In the past year, we have broken ground on major expansions in three of our theme parks,” continues Vahle. “We are building Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tropical Americas in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Villains- and Cars-themed areas in Magic Kingdom. Construction of Disney Lakeshore Lodge, a new Disney Vacation Club property next to Fort Wilderness Resort, is also well underway,” he said.
Change Is Hard
While Vahle is excited for the future, he knows that any Disney World closure can hit fans hard.

The attachment that fans have for the resort is not something that he takes for granted.

“We know that everything at Walt Disney World is somebody’s favorite, so we were extremely thoughtful about that,” he says. “These lands and attractions will deliver some incredibly creative experiences while also bringing new life to underutilized areas.”
A New Era in Disney World History
Between the projects currently underway and those to come, it is clear that Walt Disney World is entering a new era in its history.

While change may be difficult for some, it is great to see Disney continue to invest in The Most Magical Place on Earth and ensure that the resort remains for generations to come.
