Salt & Straw Brings Back the Choco Taco This Week!
Ice cream, chocolate, and tacos all in one? Count me in! The Choco Taco is coming back this week, and fans are ready to indulge.
You may remember the original Choco Taco, which was available at Taco Bell. It was delicious and the perfect way to end your meal.

Fans were disappointed and upset when it disappeared from the menu, but now you can get excited again! Fast-forward to 2025. This treat returns and with a new name!
A Special Collaboration
Get ready for The Tacolate! If the name reminds you of the legendary Choco Taco, you’re right! The Choco Taco became an ice cream staple in the 1980s and even appeared on Taco Bell menus until 2015.
Created by Salt & Straw co-founder Tyler Malek in collaboration with Taco Bell’s culinary team, the new Tacolate features:

A hand-pressed, extra-crunchy waffle cone shell

Cinnamon ancho chili ice cream

A dip in single-origin chocolate
-
A sprinkle of toasted brown rice
Yum! How fun is this? To complete the Taco Bell tie-in, each Tacolate comes with two “sauce packets”: Mango Jalapeño Sauce and Wildberry Cinnamon Sauce.
Where Can You Find it?
Starting this Friday, October 3, the Tacolate will be available at participating Salt & Straw locations in Oregon, Washington, California, New York, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, and New England.
Fans can also order six-packs online at saltandstraw.com. Unfortunately, it will not be available at Taco Bell. We don’t know if the original Choco Taco will ever return, but this is pretty close!
