DINOSAUR Debuts New On-Ride Photo Overlays as the Attraction’s Countdown to Extinction Continues
On February 2, 2026, the countdown to extinction will strike zero for DINOSAUR, and the opening day of the Animal Kingdom attraction will permanently close.
As first revealed at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the entirety of DinoLand, U.S.A., will be demolished to facilitate the creation of a new Tropical Americas land.

To give guests a final chance to experience DinoLand, Disney is closing the area in stages. Earlier this year, Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama was torn down.

Then, earlier this month, The Boneyard was closed.
A New DINOSAUR On-Ride Photo Overlay
While DINOSAUR may only have five months of operation remaining, Disney is not done surprising guests who ride the attraction.

Earlier this afternoon, Disney PhotoPass took to Instagram and revealed that a new DINOSAUR attraction photo overlay has debuted.
The new PhotoPass photo features a collection of images from the attraction, including a Carnotaurus, a pterodactyl, and the time vortex.

The attraction’s signature tagline, “It’s fast! It’s a blast! It’s in the past!” is also present.
Interestingly, the frame also features the year on it, allowing fans to commemorate their final rides on the attraction.
For comparison sake, here is the old on-ride photo.

Limited-Time Magic
So, if you plan on taking one last trip into the past aboard DINOSAUR, don’t miss this opportunity to memorialize your adventure.

The new PhotoPass overlay is available now! You will have to hurry, however, as the attraction will close for good on February 2, 2025.
