A Guide to Disney’s Enchanting Extras Collection: Magic Kingdom
It’s certainly no secret that there’s A LOT to do in Disney World. And with four major theme parks, two water parks, a dedicated shopping and dining district, and more than 25 Disney resorts, “A LOT” is actually an understatement.

The truth is, you don’t have to know much about Disney World to know that it’s got a lot to offer.
I’ll go out on a limb here and say that even if you’ve never set foot on Disney property, you still know that there are rides, rollercoasters, fireworks, food, and so, SO much more.

Photo: Disney
Of course, there are the obvious attractions — the iconic landmarks like Cinderella Castle, and the famous faces, like Mickey Mouse and Goofy. Many classic attractions are even well-known outside the Disney sphere, like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean (thank you, Johnny Depp).

Pirates of the Caribbean
But the truth is, this is just scratching the surface of all the amazing experiences available in Disney World.
Beyond the iconic attractions and famous faces, Disney World is also home to a whole bunch of extra-special, lesser-known experiences – the kind of unique adventures that might teach you something about nature, indulge your creative side, or even take you behind the scenes of the world’s most magical theme parks!

What do I mean? I’m talking about Disney World’s Enchanting Extras Collection, of course!
What are Enchanting Extras?
Obviously, Disney World is pretty enchanting all on its own — it is the Most Magical Place on Earth, after all! With exciting attractions, fabulous resorts, and immersive theming that brings the magic to life, you don’t need anything “extra” to make Disney World shine.

Photo: Disney
But let’s be honest — there’s nothing about Disney World that is truly a “need.” It may be the ONE place on Earth that’s all about indulging whims, granting wishes, and copious amounts of pixie dust!
So if you’re looking for some extra magic on your next Disney vacation (and who would blame you?), the Enchanting Extras Collection is a FANTASTIC way to make it happen.

In case you missed it, Disney’s Enchanting Extras Collection includes special tours, exclusive experiences, and amazing add-ons that kick the magic up to a whole new level.
Want to meet an elephant? DONE. How about a family photo session in Magic Kingdom, or a nighttime fireworks cruise, or a makeover fit for royalty? DONE, DONE, and also DONE.

Unsurprisingly, there are Enchanted Extras available ALL over Disney World — but today, we’re taking a look at all the fun-filled options at Magic Kingdom. Let’s check it out!
Disney’s Enchanting Extras Collection: MAGIC KINGDOM
Keys to the Kingdom Tour
Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at Magic Kingdom? With Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour, you have the chance to find out!

Photo: Disney
If you’ve ever yearned to know HOW the magic happens, this magical, five-hour walking tour is for you!
During the Keys of the Kingdom tour, you’ll experience the mythical “Ultildor” tunnels, learn little-known Disney facts, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of Disney World’s very first theme park.

Priced at $149 per person (plus tax), Keys to the Kingdom also includes lunch and an exclusive take-home keepsake.

Be aware that you must have a valid photo ID and be 16 years of age or older to participate. In addition, the use of cameras, video cameras, and mobile phones is strictly prohibited throughout the tour (gotta protect the magic, right?).

While walk-up slots are sometimes available, we recommend making reservations in advance, especially if this one-of-a-kind experience is at the top of your Disney World bucket list.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
Everybody loves a glow up, right? And bonus points if that glow is granted by an actual Fairy Godmother!

Fairy Godmother at Magic Kingdom
At Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, kids ages three to thirteen can enjoy a royal, regal experience that will leave them feeling truly enchanted.
Located in the heart of Magic Kingdom, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers several different packages that come at varying price points. Pricing and offerings are ever-changing, but services generally include hair, makeup, nails, and even your choice of a high-quality princess dress.

Unsurprisingly, this experience is incredibly popular, so advance reservations are highly recommended. You can snag your spot through the My Disney Experience app 60 days in advance (or 60 days before check-in day for Disney resort guests).

If a visit to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is on your next Disney World agenda, be aware that the entrance to the salon is located behind Cinderella Castle near Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel. You’ll check in and do your shopping here before a Cast Member escorts you to the salon inside Cinderella Castle.
Harmony Barber Shop
While Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is pretty well-known among Disney fans, there’s actually another place to get a glow-up in Magic Kingdom — and this one flies a little more under the radar. Yup, I’m talking about Harmony Barber Shop!

Located near the park entrance on Main Street, U.S.A., Harmony Barber Shop sits nestled into the corner right next to the Main Street, U.S.A. Fire Station.
Honestly, this little spot is so unassuming that many Disney fans don’t even know it’s there — even if they’ve walked by it 100 times!

Harmony Barber Shop at Magic Kingdom
With its old-world charm and nostalgic vibes, I personally consider this one of Disney World’s finest hidden gems.
Here, guests can opt for a beard trim or even get their ears lowered (aka a haircut). Or, if you’re looking for a special way to commemorate your kiddo’s first trip, spring for the First Haircut Package, which includes a Mickey Ear hat and a milestone certificate.

Prices here are shockingly reasonable, with the My First Haircut Package starting at $28. In a place where sticker shock is the norm, Harmony Barber Shop is a fantastic value.

While Harmony Barber Shop is all too frequently overlooked, it’s also TINY. For this reason, advance reservations are still recommended — so be sure to snag them 60 days in advance before you lose your chance!
Fireworks Dessert Parties
If you’ve ever wondered where to find the BEST viewing location for Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After Fireworks, there is one answer and one answer only. The BEST viewing location is the one that includes sweets, treats, and loads of delicious desserts (pretty much a no-brainer, right?).

If you’re looking to add a little extra magic to an already magical moment, try booking a Magic Kingdom Dessert Party!
Dessert parties include a special fireworks viewing area, plus an impressive selection of sweets, like chocolate silk tarts and chocolate-covered strawberries. Additionally, guests over 21 can also enjoy an assortment of wine and beer.

When it comes to Magic Kingdom’s Fireworks Dessert Parties, you have three options: Seats & Sweets, which allows you to sit down and enjoy your treats during the fireworks show; the Pre-Party, where you indulge first and watch the show after; and the Post-Party, where you take in the fireworks first and then attend the party after the fireworks are over.
For both the Pre- and Post-Parties, fireworks viewing takes place in a prime standing area in the Plaza Garden.

Of course, prices will vary by date and based on the seating you book.
The Seats & Sweets option clocks in at the highest prices: $119 to $129 per adult, and $75 per child under 10. Meanwhile, the Pre- and Post- Parties are a slightly less expensive option, with adult prices between $99 and $109 and child prices of $59 per kiddo.

As with most Enchanting Extras, advance reservations are highly recommended.
Capture Your Moment: Magic Kingdom Park
When it comes to our Disney vacations, we all want to snag our most magical moments on film! That way, when the trip is over and we’re back at home, we can relive our favorite memories and moments through the pictures we took.

Of course, nobody wants to live out their vacation behind the lens of the camera!
Thankfully, Disney offers several photo services (like PhotoPass and Memory Maker) that allow us to stay in the moment AND document our adventures for posterity.

With Capture Your Moment, you’ll secure the perfect family photos with a personalized, 20-minute photo shoot with a professional Disney photographer (need more time? You can also book two subsequent slots for an extended session).

Hard-Ticketed Holiday Parties
Magic Kingdom is magical any time of year, but add in some festive holiday spirit, and you’re taking magic to a whole new level!

Photo: Disney
The truth is, you don’t need to attend a hard-ticketed party to enjoy holiday vibes in Disney World.
In the fall, a standard park ticket is all you need to soak up the harvest decor, Mickey pumpkin wreaths, and delicious autumnal treats. Come Christmas, it’s all about those yummy yuletide snacks and very-merry vibes!

Magic Kingdom Holiday Crowds
But honestly, Magic Kingdom’s hard-ticketed holiday events are an incredible addition to any Disney vacation!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
First up, you’ve got Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party, which generally kicks off sometime in August and runs through October 31st.

The festive affair features delicious fall fare, rare character meets, exclusive party merchandise, and spectacular not-so-spooky entertainment, like the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and the fan-favorite Boo-to-You Halloween Parade.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Come November, Magic Kingdom transitions into holiday mode, with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party running on select nights in November and December.

Like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party offers lots of festive flair — from holiday treats and eats to holiday merchandise, rare character meets, and extra-special entertainment, including Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show, and Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show.

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
Even better? This festive, holiday extravaganza also includes a visit from Santa, complimentary cocoa and cookies, and SNOW on Main Street, U.S.A. Impressive, right?
All in all, Magic Kingdom’s hard-ticketed seasonal events are always a big deal, and dates typically sell out for both.
