WATCH: New ‘Avatar: Fire & Ash’ Trailer Reveals the Dark History of the Fire Na’vi
After a three-year wait, audiences will return to Pandora this December for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment in James Cameron’s beloved sci-fi franchise.
“With ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash,’ James Cameron takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family,” Disney has teased.

In the lead-up to the release of Fire and Ash, both Cameron and Disney have explained that the Avatar franchise will soon expand in exciting directions.

“You’ll see a lot more Pandora that you never saw before,” Cameron said at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event. “It’s an insane adventure and a feast for the eyes, but it’s also got very high emotional stakes, more than ever before. We’re going into really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love.”
A New Side of Pandora
This time around, audiences will be introduced to two new tribes of Na’vi, the Ash Clan and the Wind Traders.

Unlike the largely friendly Na’vi that we have met in the past, the Ash Clan has a dark side.

With just months to go until Avatar: Fire and Ash hits theaters, Disney has released a new trailer for the film.

In the new clip, we learn the backstory of the Ash Clan, whose forest home was destroyed by a volcano.
Amid breathtaking shots of new parts of Pandora, audiences are warned that “this world is much deeper than you imagined.”
