Tiny Lister Will Posthumously Reprise His Role as Finnick in ‘Zootopia 2’
On November 26, 2025, moviegoers will join Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps for a new adventure when Zootopia 2 arrives in theaters.
The second installment in the Zootopia franchise will see Nick and Judy following a “twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.”
“To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before,” the synopsis explains.
New and Returning Characters
Zootopia 2 will broaden the world of Zootopia and introduce audiences to new animal characters.
So far, we know that Ke Huy Quan will portray Gary the Snake, Patrick Warburton will voice Mayor Winddancer, and Yvette Nicole Brown will pull double duty as EMT Otter and Baroness Bear.
Additionally, however, audiences will also reunite with Nick, Judy, Flash, Clawhouser, and Gazelle.
Now, however, we have learned that another beloved character will return.
Tiny Lister Will Reprise His Return as Finnick
Five years after Tommy “Tiny” Lister Jr. passed away, the late actor will reprise his role as Finnick in Zootopia 2.

According to director Jared Bush, the Zootopia team obtained permission from the Lister family to use archival recordings to feature Finnick in the upcoming film.
Bush also explained that Disney did not use AI to recreate Lister’s voice, but instead used tape from his original recording session.
