Disney Unequal Pay Lawsuit Takes Interesting Turn
A woman who is suing Disney and ABC Studios, alleging she was fired after complaining about unequal pay based on her gender and race, has agreed to undergo an independent psychological examination.
Asta Jonasson sued Disney in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging she was underpaid at her job as a development executive because she was Asian and female.

The Claims
Jonasson was hired in 2011 and reportedly complained to director/screenwriter John Ridley, arguing that she was being paid less because she was a person of color.

According to the lawsuit, Jonasson also complained to ABC about the pay disparity between men and women.
Additionally, Jonasson complained to Ridley that his producing partner had twice called her an obscene name. Ridley allegedly did nothing to stop the behavior.

Finally, the plaintiff says that she did not receive a raise between 2014 and 2022 despite taking on additional responsibilities. Jonasson attributes this unfair treatment to her gender and race.

After complaining to Ridley again in 2022, Jonasson was let go 90 days later.
Jonasson Will Undergo an Independent Psychological Examination

Now, Jonasson will undergo an evaluation with Dr. George Woods with a maximum time limit of eight hours.
