Disney Holds a Field Day For Students Impacted By the Eaton Wildfire
Delivering the kind of magic that only Disney can, the company hosted a field day for 800 students from three California schools that had been impacted by the Eaton fire.
Bringing a little bit of Disneyland to students from Odyssey Charter School, McKinley School, and Don Benito, Disney created themed play areas based on Star Wars, Zootopia, Marvel, Inside Out, Mickey Mouse & Friends, and the Disney Princesses.

On hand for the festivities were numerous characters, including Mickey, Minnie, Belle, Stitch, Tiana, Rapunzel, Joy, Sadness, and Rey Skywalker.
A Special Day
The event was part of Disney’s $15 million commitment to help communities rebuilding from the Eaton and Palisades fires earlier this year.

According to District Superintendent Elizabeth Blanco, families are still hurting, even as the wildfires have slipped from the news.

“Even though [the Eaton fire] is not a news headline every day, it’s a headline in these children’s lives,” she told the Pasadena Star-News.

“We made a commitment during the fires,” said Lisa Haines, Senior Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility for Walt Disney Company. “We [Disney] said that we weren’t going to just be here in the few days after. So, we were going to be here as the community recovered and rebuilt.”

All in all, it was an exciting day for kids, and the delivery of the kind of magic that only Disney can create.
