Prince Harry Recalls First Trip to Disney World — “I Was Blown Away”
ABC aired The Happiest Story on Earth: 70 Years of Disneyland — A Special Edition of 20/20 last night, giving fans the opportunity to celebrate Disneyland Resort’s past and look ahead to its future.
Throughout the special, famous Disneyland fans explained their love for The Happiest Place on Earth, often recalling visits to the resort that they made as young kids.

Disneyland 70th Celebration
While most of those interviewed were largely unknown the first time they visited the Disney Parks, that was not true of Prince Harry, who took a trip to Walt Disney World in 1993 along with his late mother, Princess Diana, and brother, Prince William.

“I went with my mom and my brother. I remember it very, very well,” he recalled. ” And I remember losing it as a kid with all the characters. Like, losing it.”
Meghan Markle’s Disney Story
Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, grew up in Southern California, meaning Disneyland was in her own backyard.

Nevertheless, visiting the resort was “still the biggest treat in the world.”
One of Markle’s favorite Disneyland memories was visiting the park during Grad Night, when high school seniors had the opportunity to celebrate in the park after hours.

“I don’t even know why they let us do that!” she said.
“That sounds like a lot of fun. Can you do that in your forties?” Harry added.
The Next Generation
In a full-circle moment, Meghan and Harry celebrated their daughter Lili’s birthday with a family trip to Disneyland.

According to Harry, both Lili and her brother Archie were excited before they even got to the park.
“They’re like, ‘This is amazing!’ Like, ‘Guys, this isn’t even the front of it. Prepare yourself. You’re about to be blown away,'” he recalled.

“To see the kids throw themselves into these experiences when they have no idea what they’re walking into — it was amazing. And it brings out the kid in you again.”.
