UPDATE: Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby Continues Refurbishment
If you follow along with MickeyBlog, you know that Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is undergoing a major transformation.
Known for its Victorian elegance and Disney charm, the iconic hotel is getting a refresh. Everything from new carpets to artwork to updated stairwells and more!

Walt Disney World revealed plans for the major renovation earlier this year, and we have been tracking its progress. Recent updates include construction in the Garden Tea Room. the former front desk area, and a new mural just above the main staircase.

Today, we stopped by and are sharing the latest updates.
The Latest Update
Progress is coming along at the beloved resort, and the changes are looking great. The first update we noticed is happening with the birdcage.

This iconic centerpiece was dismantled earlier this year to make way for a new one. The new birdcage will be inspired by the original structure’s Victorian aesthetic, complete with intricate woodwork and stained glass.

Neutral-colored construction walls and cleverly placed greenery and figures hide the construction on the lower levels, but an overhead view shows the new structure being assembled.
We also noticed that the main staircase has reopened. It was blocked off just a few days ago!

We shared this mural a couple of days ago, and now guests can get a better look.
The new artwork and carpet create an updated and charming ambiance for the Victorian hotel.
The updated area looks and feels so much brighter.

And how great are the details in the carpet? We love the references to the Grand Floridian and its classic vibes.
More Updates
In addition to the new art and carpet, we spotted brand new golden light fixtures being installed…
… and new wallpaper. This light blue backdrop with cream-colored flowers and trees is both charming and whimsical.

There is a lot of work happening every day, and when it is complete, the reimagined lobby will feature more botanical accents and inviting colors that create a light, garden-inspired atmosphere.
The new look will also include refreshed furniture and nature-inspired decor, all updated to enhance the resort’s airy feel.

Once complete, the lobby upgrade project will offer a refreshed yet familiar space where guests can once again relax and enjoy the elegance of the Grand Floridian.
