Fans Flocked to Theaters This Weekend For ‘Toy Story’ 30th Anniversary Screenings
Three decades after audiences were first introduced to Woody, Buzz, Rex, Hamm, and the rest of Andy’s toys, Toy Story returned to theaters last weekend for special 30th anniversary screenings.
In the years since the original Toy Story was released, the film has spawned one of the most popular franchises in popular culture.

With Toy Story 5 set to hit theaters next year, it was the perfect time for fans to relive the adventure that started it all.
A Triumphant Return to Theaters
In a testament to the lasting popularity of Toy Story, fans flocked to theaters last weekend to reconnect with their favorite characters.

By the time the dust settled, Toy Story had added another $5.8 million to its box office total, bringing its worldwide gross to $398.4 million.
Breaking that number down, the Toy Story re-release grossed $4 million in domestic theaters and $1.8 million overseas in its first five days back in theaters.

The film now has a real chance ot crossing $400 million before the re-release is over.
Good News For Disney
As we have seen with recent re-releases of Star Wars and Spider-Man, fans are still willing to turn out ot theaters to re-watch their favorite films, even if they are available on streaming and home video.
