PHOTOS: New Cool Ship Takes Form in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the renovations taking place in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland.
The story began last May, when Disney unexpectedly demolished Tomorrowland’s Cool Ship and Cool Scanner, which had provided guests with out-of-this-world snacks for over thirty years.

While it was shocking to see one of the last remnants of Tomorrowland ’94 bite the dust, it quickly became apparent that Disney would be replacing the refreshment stand.
Construction on the New Cool Ship Has Been Underway
Over the next several months, we watched as the new structure came to life.

The last time we checked in, Disney had created walkways around the future stand.

Now we are back with a major update.
The New Cool Ship Takes Form
When visiting Tomorrowland today, we were thrilled to see that the new structure has taken shape.

As you can see, the new structure still resembles a spaceship.

Instead of the pulp fiction architecture that defined the old Cool Ship, however, the new building looks more modern.

Overall, the snack stand strikes the perfect balance between the old design and the clean aesthetic that Tomorrowland has been going for of late.

For instance, it matches the nearby Joffrey’s location well.

Here is one last look.

When Will the Stand Open?
At this time, Disney has not announced when the Cool Ship will reopen.
Based on today’s update, however, it shouldn’t be long!
