Hurricane Kiko May Brush Hawaii This Week
It is Hurricane season, and Florida is keeping its eye on Tropical Storm Fernand, and Hawaii is closely monitoring Hurricane Kiko.
Just last night, acting governor Sylvia Luke declared a State of Emergency for Hawaii. News and information have quickly changed, even overnight. Here is the latest.
Hurricane Kiko
Hurricane Kiko remains a powerful storm roughly 1,000 miles east-southeast of Hawaii, though it is expected to weaken as it nears.

NOAA
Cooler water, wind shear, and dry air will likely reduce its strength before reaching the islands. This diminishes the threat of strong winds and widespread rain, but will still create swells, rip currents, and scattered showers.
Most model forecasts have Kiko passing north of the islands between Tuesday and Wednesday as a tropical storm.
Kiki was initially expected to be a Category 4 hurricane, but it will now gradually weaken over the next several days to a lesser threat.

NOAA
Meteorologists predict that if the current track holds up, the winds will be very light, and it might end up just being hot and muggy without much wind. Any rain that comes will be isolated, and impacts may only include high surf, occasional wind gusts in exposed areas, and light rain.

Does this impact any guests staying at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa? Wind and rain could disrupt your plans. News and weather are changing, so be sure to monitor local conditions carefully.
