Walt Disney World revealed plans for the major renovation earlier this year, and we have been tracking its progress. Recent updates included construction in the Garden Tea Room and the former front desk area.
Today, we stopped in and are sharing the latest updates!
The Latest Update
We noticed right away that most of the lobby is a construction site, and today it is pretty noisy with a lot of construction sounds.

Curtains, stanchions, and new signage are blocking the stairway.

The new signs apologize for the construction and encourage guests to use the nearby elevators.

However, the lobby staircase has an exciting new update. New artwork has appeared!
A colorful mural of the Grand Floridian has gone up over the closed staircase.

Ladders, construction workers, and plenty of equipment can be seen throughout the main floor.

There is a lot of work happening, and when it is complete, the reimagined lobby will feature botanical accents and inviting colors that create a light, garden-inspired atmosphere.

The new look will also include refreshed furniture, the grand staircase, and the front desk, all updated to enhance the resort’s airy feel.
