It is another beautiful day at Walt Disney World, and the resort is celebrating something big. It is National Wildlife Day, and Dr. Mark Penning is sharing with animal fans just how Disney celebrates this special day.

Disney is known for its immersive experiences, thrilling rides, and awesome characters, but not all of them are cartoons. Many of them are actual animals, which is why today is extra special.
Disney has always supported and protected the diverse wildlife and Florida’s natural heritage, and here is more of what the company is doing to help future generations.
Celebration and Support

Disney celebrates wildlife not just today but every day. One example is to simply look around when on the property. Diverse wildlife thrives across Walt Disney World.
If you have ever visited Animal Kingdom, you know that there are over 300 animal species alone at the park and an entire conservation team that manages the animals.

Walt Disney World’s property is vast, but about one-third of it is dedicated to wildlife conservation, covering around 40 mi.².
This commitment dates back to the very beginning of the resort’s development, when Walt Disney himself set aside large portions of the land for nature and the future.

The Disney Conservation Fund recently awarded $1 million to the Florida Wildlife Quarter and consistently collaborates with conservation organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, to restore habitats and protect native Florida wildlife through its Disney Wilderness Preserve and other projects.

None of this could be done without the tireless work of the Disney Conservation cast members, who share a passion for nature and a desire to help protect its magic for generations to come.
Let’s Celebrate!
These are just a few of the ways that Disney celebrates nature and animals every day, especially on National Wildlife Day.
From protecting endangered species to supporting global conservation efforts, Disney continues to help create a bright future for wildlife.
