Disney Is Getting Ready to Announce the 2026-2027 Disney Ambassadors!
If you are a frequent Disney Parks visitor, you know that Cast Members are the secret behind the magic.
Tasked with supporting the hundreds of thousands of magic makers across the country are Disney Ambassadors, the friendly faces who exude Disney’s spirit and mission.

As Disney prepares to choose its newest Ambassadors, here is the story of how the program came to be.
The First Disney Ambassador Was Chosen By Walt
For those who don’t know, the Disney Ambassador Program supports and represents Cast Members, while serving as the “ultimate cheerleaders” and storytellers.

According to Disney, “Ambassadors lead and celebrate Disney cast, crew, Imagineers, and employees through major milestones of new openings and anniversaries, while also being there to recognize the magic made every day.”
The first Disney Ambassador was actually appointed by Walt Disney himself, who was looking for someone to represent Disneyland and attend the park’s Tencennial events on his behalf.

After a widespread search, Walt chose Julie Reihm Casatello, a Disneyland tour guide!

Since 1965, nearly 250 Cast Members have served as Disney Ambassadors, representing every Disney Park in the world.
The Next Class Will Be Chosen Soon
In the coming weeks, Disney will begin selecting and announcing the 2026-2027 Disney Ambassadors.

Once chosen, they will serve a two-year term that will begin in January.
Each Disney Park will have two dedicated Ambassadors, while Aulani has a solo Ambassador.
