Disneyland Cast Member Hank Ameen Receives His New Legacy Name Tag
If you’ve ever strolled down Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland, chances are you’ve seen Hank Ameen.
At 92, Hank is the longest-serving employee in The Walt Disney Company, with more than 62 years of service. From Jungle Cruise skipper to Disneyland Resort firefighter, Hank has lived a lifetime of magic within the park.

This week, Hank added another milestone to his extraordinary journey: receiving his new Walt Disney Legacy Award name tag.

The Legacy Award is the highest honor a Disney cast member can receive. This coveted award celebrates Walt Disney’s legacy by acknowledging outstanding cast, crew, and Walt Disney Imagineers worldwide.
These are people who embody Walt Disney’s spirit by dreaming, creating, and inspiring. Fewer than 1% of cast members worldwide receive this recognition, and Hank is now proudly among them.

For Hank, the new name tag is more than a symbol. It reflects decades of dedication. Since joining Disneyland in 1958, Hank has helped protect the magic for generations of guests.
Whether piloting Jungle Cruise boats with quick wit and humor or ensuring pyrotechnic safety as a firefighter, his work has always been rooted in care, optimism, and community.

Hank’s connection to Disneyland goes all the way back to 1955, when he and his wife visited the park on their honeymoon. This was just one month after opening day.

Over the years, he has created and collected plenty of memories that most can only dream of. One of his favorites is having lunch and meeting Walt Disney.
However, Hank’s favorite moments are those spent with his fellow cast members, especially the Disneyland Resort firefighters he calls family.
Now, with his new Legacy Award name tag, Hank continues to walk Main Street with the same enthusiasm he had more than six decades ago.
When asked if he plans to retire, he simply answers, “As long as I can smile and laugh, I’m going to be here.” Congratulations, Hank!
