Disney World Celebrates 10 Years of Expansion and Investment With An Exciting Look Ahead
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog this year, you know that 2025 has been a massive time of change at Walt Disney World.
Over the course of the last eight months, we have seen Disney begin work on Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Piston Peak in Magic Kingdom, and Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Additionally, in what was expected to be a quieter year, we saw the opening of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure, and Test Track 3.0.
Finally, we are still eagerly awaiting the opening of Zootopia: Better Zoogether! this November, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and The Magic of Disney Animation.

Needless to say, it is an exciting time to be a Disney fan.
The Last Decade of Disney World Additions
While much has been written about the massive new projects underway, the latest additions to Disney World are really the culmination of a decade of expansion and investment.

To highlight the investments Disney has made in The Most Magical Place on Earth, Disney World has released a new graphic showing its numerous projects over the last 10 years.
The Highlights
Since 2016, we have seen Frozen Ever After, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Awesome Planet, Canada Far and Wide, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Journey of Water, and Luminous: The Symphony of Us at EPCOT.

In Animal Kingdom, Disney has opened Pandora — The World of Avatar (with Na’vi River Journey and Flight of Passage) and Feathered Friends in Flight!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has seen the additions of Toy Story Land (Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers), Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (housing Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance), Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and the two aforementioned new shows.

At Magic Kingdom, we have seen the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, as well as the debut of Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away.

Outside of the four theme parks, Disney has transformed Disney Springs, opened Miss Adventure Falls, built Disney’s Riviera Resort and Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and introduced the Disney Skyliner!

Over the last 10 years, Disney Experiences has spent roughly $60 billion on new projects. The craziest thing, however, is that the resort is just getting started!

A Look Ahead
In addition to the projects that Disney currently has underway, we are still looking forward to the opening of Villains Land, Disney Lakeshore Lodge, and LEVEL99 at Disney Springs!
