A Beloved EPCOT Attraction Is Now Closed For Refurbishment
If you are a frequent reader here at MickeyBlog, you know that 2025 has been a busy year at Walt Disney World.
Over the last nine months, we have seen the demolition of Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama, the closing of the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, and the final curtain fall on Muppet*Vision 3D.

Additionally, Disney World has kicked off numerous refurbishments at its hotels, including the ongoing renovations at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort.
As the Disney World news keeps coming in fast and furious, it can be hard to keep up! Luckily, we here at MickeyBlog have it covered.

With that in mind, I want to turn your attention to EPCOT, where yet another refurbishment has begun.
Spaceship Earth Has Closed For Refurbishment
Just weeks after Test Track 3.0 made its debut at EPCOT, another one of the park’s iconic attractions has closed for renovations.
In World Celebration, Spaceship Earth has now closed for what is expected to be a months-long refurbishment.

When visiting EPCOT today, we were greeted by the unfamiliar sight of a closed Spaceship Earth.

As you can see, planters have been wheeled into the area.

Here is a look at the entrance.

While Spaceship Earth is closed, GEO-82 is still welcoming guests.

It should be noted that the Spaceship Earth refurbishment is not expected to drastically change the attraction. Instead, we should see a general sprucing up.
Finally, Project Tomorrow is also closed.

When Will the Attraction Reopen?
At this time, Disney has not announced when Spaceship Earth will reopen.

Currently, the Walt Disney World website simply states that it will reopen later this year.
Hopefully, however, we will learn more soon!
