It’s almost time to finally visit the new tavern coming to Magic Kingdom — The Beak and Barrel! This is a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar and lounge located in Adventureland, officially opening on August 29th.

We know about the food and drink menu of the new spot, but now, we’re finally getting a peek inside! Let’s take a look.
Inside The Beak and Barrel
The Mess
The first space inside of The Beak and Barrel is The Mess! This was once a mess hall for Spanish soldiers before it was repurposed by a crew of pirates.
Look up as you walk in and you’ll see a ship’s bell that is rumored to be from Captain Redd’s first ship and gifted to Captain Merry Goldwyn (the founder of The Beak and Barrel) at the tavern’s founding.

You will also find long tables to gather around as well as an old anchor covered in candles working as a chandelier. Make sure to check out the detailed Mermaid Windows to the side that we salvaged from the wreckage of an infamous pirate ship.
The Brig is in the far end of the room and still has the old bars and framework of its past life — you can see the door resting nearby, off of its hinges.
Cursed Bar
On the side of The Mess is a massive skull-shaped bar! It’s home to a large collection of rare bottles and prized spoils that are kept behind lock and key.

In the heart of the bar you will find the Enchanted Rum Bottle, which is an ornate bottle of grog sitting in a place of honor in its own special cover. This was gifted by a powerful enchantress and means the tavern’s barrels and the pirates’ cheer will never run dry as long as the bottle stays full!

On top of the bar, Rummy the parrot is keeping an eye on the crew while welcoming guests. He will tell a story or singe a song as he makes his way out from his main roost in the hollow of the skull’s eye.
Captains’ Quarters
The Captains’ Quarters were once the private residence of the Spanish Comandante and used to have walls lined with grand artwork and rich drapery. But the rowdy pirates have definitely left their mark here with slashing blades and hot embers!

In the center of this room, you can see an elegant fireplace. On the mantle, there are mini ships in glass bottles that are known to come alive and engage in a fearsome bottle-bound battle!
Captains’ Booths
Along the wall of the Captain’s Quarters are the Captains’ Booths — four grand booths with intricately carved wooden panels. Each tells stories about the exploits of notorious pirates!

Tucked further away in here is a private sitting room where pirates partake in their favorite games of skill and chance. You might see signs of past matches or a warning for anyone thinking of not playing by the rules.

Mapmaker’s Room
Finally, we have the Mapmaker’s Room! This room is filled with rolled up maps, pieces of parchment, spilled ink, and treasured secrets that belonged to a crazed pirate cartographer.
Now, pirates gather around the worktable in the center of the room. On the wall is a large painted map of the known pirating world that includes many pirating secrets to be discovered.
