PHOTOS: Progress Continues on the Grand Floridan Lobby Refresh as Birdcage Bar Takes Shape
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog this year, you know that 2025 has been full of resort refurbishments.
From Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort to the All-Star Music, we have seen the Disney World resorts undergo numerous renovations to ensure that guests have the best experience possible.

Perhaps the most notable of these large-scale projects is the ongoing refurbishment of the Grand Floridian Resort’s lobby.
The Grand Floridian Lobby Refresh
The Grand Floridian lobby project kicked off early this year, with Imagineering announcing that the area would receive a fresh new look while maintaining the ambiance and Victorian theme that have come to define the resort.

Once completed, the Grand Floridian lobby will showcase elegant new carpeting adorned with Victorian-style borders and intricate scrollwork, featuring hand-drawn floral patterns inspired by turn-of-the-century botanical illustrations. It will also house a new lobby bar.
The last time we checked in, work was underway on the lobby’s former front desk area.

Now, we are back with an update!
The Latest From the Floridian
When visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort today, we were thrilled to see that significant progress has been made.

The most significant change is that the new bar is coming together.

As you can see, the birdcage structure has really taken shape.

Here is another look.

Additionally, the lobby’s stairwell has been blocked off.

Guests are currently being directed to the elevators to get to the second floor.

During the refurbishment, the lobby continues to be open to guests, who can sit back and relax on the furniture.

I, for one, can’t wait to see what Disney does with the new Floridian lobby!
