Disneyland Spreads the Magic with 70 Happiest Hours in Anaheim
Get ready for fun! For 70 years, Disneyland has been part of Anaheim, California’s story, and this week the resort is saying thank you… in a special Disney way.
To celebrate its milestone anniversary, Disneyland Resort kicked off the 70 Happiest Hours initiative, a three-day series of surprise events across the city.

Running from August 20–22, 2025, Disney is spreading happiness and sharing excitement in true Disney fashion.

The first day alone was packed with unforgettable moments. Bright and early, Crescent Elementary students walked into a back-to-school morning they’ll never forget. More than 800 kids and teachers were greeted by Disney characters, live entertainment, and breakfast treats.
Even better? Every student and staff member received a plush Mickey Mouse to take home.

The celebration didn’t stop there. At Ponderosa Elementary, third and fourth graders were treated to a reading-themed event hosted by Mickey Mouse and Disney Ambassador Raul Aquino Rojas.
The school received an even bigger surprise when author Ridley Pearson gave a live reading of his newest Kingdom Keepers book. Disney even donated $15,000 to support the school’s reading programs.

By lunchtime, the fun came to the Anaheim seniors at the Brookhurst Community Center! Residents enjoyed a sixties-style sock hop, danced and sang to live Motown tunes, and enjoyed themed treats.
Later in the afternoon, Disney characters visited the Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim, where kids enjoyed crafts, snacks, and photo ops with Donald and Daisy Duck. The kids also received a surprise popcorn bucket to take home.

The day wrapped up with a block party at Ponderosa Park, where neighbors came together for music, games, giveaways, and character meet-and-greets.
The party also had a surprise guest, when Disneyland Resort President Thomas Mazloum stopped by to thank Anaheim for 70 incredible years.
