Cecilia Mendonça Has Left The Walt Disney Company After Nearly 25 Years
One day after The Walt Disney Company added two new executives to its roster, a longtime VP has left her position.
Cecilia Mendonça, who most recently served as head of kids & family at The Walt Disney Company Latin America, has exited the company after 24 years.

According to a report from Cveuntiuno, Mendonça had reported to Fernando Barbosa, senior VP and general manager of media networks at Disney Latin America.
A Shakeup in Latin America
While the exact reasons for Mendonça’s exit remain unclear, it should be noted that the executive was based in Buenos Aires. Over the last several years, Disney has largely moved its Latin America production out of Argentina.
The latest move, Disney says, was made “to strengthen and revitalize its local originals strategy in Latin America and grow its streaming business.”
“The changes seek to elevate the regional content offering. They provide more resources and greater focus and dynamism for the business,” Disney said in a statement to Cveintiuno.

“The changes involve further strengthening Mexico and Brazil as the main production hubs as they are the largest markets in Lat Am with the biggest growth potential and talent availability.”
Mendonça Weighs In
Mendonça originally joined Disney in 2001, as part of the Disney Channel launch in Brazil. Over the past 25 years, she has worked her way up the hierarchy, helping bring Disney+ to Latin America and developing numerous hits.
