NOT A DRILL: Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark Is ALREADY Open!
Halloween is quickly creeping into the Disneyland Resort!
While the season doesn’t officially kick off around the resort until August 22nd, the first Oogie Boogie Bash will take over Disney California Adventure on August 17th.
That means DCA is already going into Halloween mode, with decorations, not-so-spooky new arrivals, and more
But that’s not all–a popular, frighteningly fun ride overlay has made an extremely early appearance in the park. Let’s check it out!
Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark
Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, the Halloween ride overlay at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout, has opened early in DCA!
The attraction’s seasonal overlay was initially scheduled to debut with the Halloween season on August 22nd. However, it’s arrived scary early.

The attraction runs as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout until 2PM, when it switches over to Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark.

The seasonal overlay places guests in the chaotic aftermath following our rescue of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Groot has been left behind, and all of the beasts have escaped.
We have to team back up with Rocket to distract the monsters and save Groot!

The overlay is so much fun. It is a bit scarier than the original attraction, thanks to the beasts and the queue’s high-intensity atmosphere, so the kids may want to skip the ride after 2PM.
