PHOTOS: Construction Progress on Cool Ship in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom
We’ve been seeing a lot of construction happening in Magic Kingdom at Disney World! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed for a long refurbishment, Tom Sawyer Island is being transformed into Piston Peak National Park, and the Buzz Lightyear ride in Tomorrowland just shut down for a refurbishment.

And today, we noticed some progress happening on a snack stand in the park!
Cool Ship Construction Progress
Earlier this summer, we reported that the Cool Ship snack stand and misting station had closed down for refurbishment.

The refurbishment has been a lot more elaborate than we expected, though — the entire structure was completely demolished.

Disney’s website still says Cool Ship is “temporarily closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen later this year.” So, we’re assuming that this will still be called Cool Ship when it opens up, but I suspect it’s going to look completely different!

Here is how it’s looking today! We got this view while riding the PeopleMover in Tomorrowland.

The base of the snack stand is forming! It’s no longer just a pile of dirt.

This is a very encouraging sign if this is going to open up sometime later this year.

But, it’s still got a very long way to go!

Disney hasn’t announced anything about what the new snack stand might look like or serve up. But previously, it was mainly just a drink stand with popcorn and ice cream.

We’ll keep you updated on the progress. Stay tuned for more Disney World news and updates!
